Stewart Glapat Perspective

Stewart Glapat has over 2,000 installations world-wide and thousands of units loading and unloading trailers everyday. The bedding application was a bit unusual, but fit nicely into the overall design parameters of the standard product offerings. It is a typical example of how extendible conveyor technology continues to improve the productivity of shipping operations and contributes to the overall well-being of the personnel assigned these operations in industry today. When forklifts are not appropriate, the Adjustoveyor has proven itself time and again as a key technology in materials handling systems. Whereas Imperial Bedding chose two fixed location Adjustoveyors to serve two doors simultaneously, a viable alternative would be to mount the Adjustoveyor on a moveable undercarriage and allow it to move along track set into the floor to service multiple doors. Also, if the client did not want to incorporate the storage conveyor system, carts could be used to move the bedding to the dock and an operator could tilt them onto an incline conveyor at the rear of the Adjustoveyor. This approach would increase the use of the capital investment for a multiple door facility.
