A small photo-eye is mounted on the load plate at the front end of the foremost
boom of the Adjustoveyor. When a sack breaks the beam, a timer is actuated
and the belt will stop after a predetermined time interval. If the mail bag
is not removed during this time, the belt will stop, thus preventing the bag
from falling onto the floor of the trailer. If the start-stop activity is
frequent, it is recommended that a clutch be used for the belt drive.
