| (1) Belt runs off at head pulley |
a. Head pulley misaligned |
a. Check level of head pulley and perpendicular
alignment with belt. |

b. Accumulation of foreign material on
pulley face |

Clean pulley face by scraping away foreign material and washing
with solvent. |
| (2) Belt runs off at tail pulley. |
a. Tail pulley misaligned |
a. Check level and perpendicular alignment
of tail pulley. |
| (3) Belt slips when starting |
a. Insufficient belt tension |
a. Adjust screw take-up device to increase
belt tension. |

b. Worn pulley lagging |
b. Replace pulley. |
| |
c. Accumulation of foreign material on
pulley face |
c. [LOCK OUT UNIT.]
Clean pulley face by scraping, brushing, and wiping as required. |

d. Pulley side of belt is dirty. |
d. [LOCK OUT UNIT.] Clean pulley side
of belt by washing with soap and water. Do not use a solvent on belt.

| (4) Belt slips on pulley. |
a. Insufficient belt tension |
a. Adjust screw take-up device to increase
belt tension. |

Clean pulley side of belt by scraping lightly and washing with soap and
water. Do not use a solvent on the belt. |
