RECOMMENDED REMEDY

| (1) Abnormal wear to chain. |
a. Excessive chain tension |
a. [LOCK OUT UNIT.]
Loosen bolts and reposition sprockets. Align sprockets and tighten down
if needed. |

b. Sprockets misaligned. |
b. Loosen sprockets on shafts and realign
with straight edge across sprocket faces. |
|
c. Damaged sprocket or drive
chain. |
c. Replace damaged component.
Check tension and sprocket alignment. |
| (2) Excessive noise from chain and sprocket
and/or pulsating chain. |
a. Insufficient chain tension. |
a. Use idler sprocket take-up adjustment
tension on both sides equally. |
| |
b. Overload. |
b. Inspect for obstruction to or excessive
drag on Conveyor. |
| (3) Broken chain. |
a. Frozen shaft or sprocket. |
a. Inspect for damaged bearings; replace
as required. Check shafts for straightness. Replace chain as required.

b. Worn or damaged chain. |
b. Replace entire chain as required. Attempt
to find cause of wear (misalignment, etc.) in order to correct. |
| (4) Sprocket loose on shaft. |
a. Loose set screws |
a. Realign sprockets with straight edge
and tighten set screws. |
| |
b. Worn or damaged key. |
b. Replace with new key. Inspect for damage
to key seat on shaft and in sprocket hub. |
| (5) Excessive slack chain. |
a. Normal wear. |
a. Expect rapid chain growth in first
two weeks of operation. Loosen mounting bolts and reposition sprocket
take-up. |
